As part of this discuss, syncing Contact was brought up. After the meeting, I went home and worked on syncing my Contact between my laptop, iPad and iPhone. This process is very similar on Android devices.
I could not find simple directions with how to do this online so I put together a couple of suggestions and figured it out. These are general instructions and I’m focusing on Apple iPhones.
It is best to work between your laptop and your iPhone. Downloads are not as easy to access on your phone.
1. Make sure your Operation System is up to date. To check: Go to Settings>Your Name. If there is a red dot alert, click it to install the update.
2. When You purchased your phone, you needed to make an Apple ID. Usually yourname@icloud.com and a password. That is how you login to iCloud.
3. Next, check that you are connected to iCloud: Settings>YourName>iCloud>See All>Contacts turn button to green.
4. Check iCloud Storage: If iCloud storage is full, contacts will not sync!
Important: If you are trying to sync all your devices, you need to make sure they are all logged into iCloud with the same Apple ID.
You will notice that when you check your Contacts app that there are different total Contact on each device. They will be organized by where they are located: On Phone, Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo and others.
Work from your laptop to download Contacts.
The goal here is to have all your Contacts in one place-“The Cloud “(Apple and Android). In order to do that you have to Export the Contacts from those other locations inside Gmail or Outlook or other Mail applications.
1. Go to the Mail application you use then> Contacts>Export. Note the number of Contacts that you are exporting. Export as a CSV file. This file will be in your Downloads folder.
2. Next, Open Contacts App on your laptop File>Import>contacts.csv Those contacts are now added to Contact App.
To see your total contact, scroll to the bottom of the list.
