Join Women's Connection members in these Community Impact opportunities:
The Pilsen Food Pantry has served 80,000 households since opening in January 2018. Year after year, the need has increased by 30-40% and the Pilsen Food Pantry is working hard with community partners and individuals to respond to community challenges. The Pilsen Food Pantry now feeds over 500 households weekly, plus the organization provides migrant services, clothing, medical supplies, and literacy tools.
Help us stock their free clothing and housewares program by donating the following items. Our member Ellen Graber will collect your donations and deliver them to the Pilsen Food Pantry’s “El Mercadito Gratis”. Email Ellen to make drop-off arrangements.
New or gently used items needed:
• Childrens clothing: boy’s newborn & toddlers sizes; girl’s clothing all sizes
• Women’s gym shoes, men’s and children’s shoes
• Men’s & women’s shirts and pants all sizes
• New underwear, all sizes (cannot accept used undies!)
• Bed linens and small appliances
• Winter coats
We will be partnering with the Pilsen Food Pantry throughout the year and will soon announce details about a holiday family giving activity in which Peer Groups, SIGs and other small groups of members can participate. Stay tuned for more!
