Our members enjoy making a difference - and working with fellow members can make the experience more rewarding.
Here are a few of the activities our chapter offers for giving back to the community.
Volunteer Group
Members meet on a quarterly basis to share their experiences in volunteering and explore new opportunities and projects that chapter members can participate in. Members are invited to bring their ideas, passions and favorite causes to the table. To join this group, contact

Volunteer Activities
Throughout the years, our members have engaged in a variety of settings, such as a soup kitchen, food distribution center, clothing distribution center, and an annual citywide holiday party for low-income children and their families. Our current projects include:
- Cradles to Crayons - Boston Chapter has developed a special relationship with this organization, collecting in-kind and clothing donations and volunteering monthly at their site in Newton. Members sort and package donated clothing, which is distributed to local children in need. Our members especially enjoy mixing and matching items to create appealing outfits that children can wear proudly. We work a two-hour shift, which is followed by an optional lunch at a local restaurant. To be added to the email list for group volunteer, contact Audrey King.
- Prison Pen Pals - Members are paired with incarcerated women from the Framingham Correctional Facility and communicate regularly through the prison’s email system. We have made a significant difference in the lives of these incarcerated women, reducing the isolation and loneliness experienced by these women and mothers. It has been an eye opening and impactful experience, with some developing very meaningful relationships. To learn more, contact Ginny Kiefer.
Philanthropy
Our Volunteer Group identifies outstanding nonprofits and organizes opportunities for our chapter to make donations to them. During the holiday season, as well as at our semi-annual chapter-wide luncheons, we encourage members to bring donations of money or specific items such as clothing or toiletries, which we deliver to the selected organizations. Members receive specific information about donating through chapter newsletters and emails on an ongoing basis.

- Sunflower of Peace, Humanitarian Aid for Ukraine
- Baldwin Early Learning Pilot Academy, Boston, Fund books for classrooms
- The Transition House, women’s shelter for survivors of domestic violence
- Cradles to Crayons, clothing for children
- Haley House, community food and shelter programs
- Rosies Place, support for abused women
- Christmas in the City, holiday gifts and celebration for Boston shelter families
- Pine Street Inn, food pantry for those in need
Racial Justice Fund - How you can make a difference!
We invite members to donate to Women's Connection Fund for Racial Justice. You will make a difference not only to the important racial justice work being done by quality organizations, like Bryan Stevenson's Equal Justice Initiative, but also in shaping and supporting the development of impactful educational Women's Connection racial justice programming.
