General Information
This is a monthly group for women who enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction. Our meetings include a book discussion and a check in - a chance to share a bit about what's going on our lives. This gives us time not only to talk about the books we read, but also to get to know one another and offer support and encouragement.
We generally have one volunteer guide the meeting and another person who leads the book discussion. Everyone is welcome to join the conversation, whether or not they've had a chance to read the book.
WHERE AND WHEN WE MEET
The book group is open to all Women's Connection members. Nonmembers are welcome to join us a couple of times before becoming a member of Women's Connection.
We meet every month on the first Thursday of the month from 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the Shoreview Library, 4560 Victoria Ave. N., in the Book Club Room.
Notes on the schedule:
- During the winter, if the weather makes travel difficult, we may meet via zoom instead. A decision about meeting via zoom will be announced by e-mail the day before the meeting.
- During meetings when we select books, we extend our meetings by 15 minutes, to 12:00PM.
- A couple times a year, we arrange to meet for an optional lunch after the meeting at a nearby restaurant.
CHOOSING OUR BOOKS
Books are chosen for six months at a time, usually in November and May. Suggestions are solicited in advance and then discussed and selected during our meetings. Curious about what books this group has read in the past? You can find our list of past books here.

Meeting reminders and other information about the group is shared by e-mail. If you're interested in participating or want to be on our contact list, you can:

Chris D. is the administrator for the group and handles the webpage, collects books suggestions, sets up Zoom meetings, reserves rooms, sends out communications, and addresses any concerns from the members.
