Urban Hiking
General Information

The Urban Hiking SIG explores parks, trails, and new locations in the metro area with one or more monthly gatherings including hikes which focus on fitness and movement. Our hikes are about 3 miles and we walk at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all events throughout the year without any ongoing obligation. We also welcome suggestions from everyone on new locations to explore.

The group uses a rotational leadership model and invite members to select a location and lead a hike.

If you want to be added to the  list 1) add yourself to the contact group. or 2) Contact Lauren Edlund using the Member Directory.  If not a Member, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Event Information
MSP Urban Hiking - St Catherine
Thirteen of us enjoyed a hike around the campus of St. Catherine's in St. Paul. Liz DeLay planned and led the hike. Most of us had never walked around this beautiful campus before. There was plenty of conversation as we walked. Following the hike, Liz provided light snacks at Carondelet Village.

Our June hike will be on Friday, June 27, at 10:00. Barb will be leading the group in a walk at Minnehaha Falls. Anyone can join us for the walk and conversation. The walk will be followed by lunch at the Sea Salt Eatery.

Lauren is once again coordinating our hikes which will be on the fourth Friday of the month. If you have already volunteered to lead one, thanks. If you are open to leading, contact Lauren. You can find her in the membership directory.

The group is not limited to only walking once a month. If members want to plan additional hikes, please contact Lauren so we can get them on the calendar and in the newsletter.
