Join us for this interesting program where you will learn about the Local History & Genealogy collection and archive at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, with an emphasis on the Columbus Black Heritage Collection.
Nicole Sutton will show how you can discover and explore the library's resources and contribute to preserving Central Ohio's history, too!
Nicole Sutton is the Black Heritage Special Collections Librarian in the Local History & Genealogy division at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. They have a passion for research, helping others to access information, and creating space for people to tell their stories.
Nicole hosts a monthly program at the library called the Black Heritage Collection Spotlight where she and special guests discuss Black history in Columbus using materials from the library's collections.
She also participated in the 2023 YWCA Columbus Leadership for Social Change program and served as a trustee for the James Preston Poindexter Foundation board from 2023-2026.
