Look into the past of Governors Island and learn about its exciting transformation and future. Throughout this docent-led tour, you’ll examine how historic preservation, innovative design, and environmental stewardship make the Island one of the most unique public places in New York City today.
We can determine if we will try to be on the same ferry over. There may be members coming from Brooklyn who will want to meet us there. We will all meet at Soissons Landing, the place where our Manhattan ferry disembarks, and where we have a large courtyard with a welcome wall, map, and visitor center.
*Optional Lunch: Pay-On-Your-Own
After the tour, we’ll head to a nearby restaurant for an optional lunch to continue the conversation about the walking tour and enjoy each other’s company. Please plan to bring cash to cover your meal.
