About this event
Vanessa Garcia will share the story of Make Santa Fe and why hands-on making has become such a powerful tool for connection and community. From woodworking and welding to digital fabrication and art, maker spaces help make traditionally male-dominated fields more welcoming and accessible to all. Vanessa will also discuss the growing vision behind the Midtown Arts and Design Alliance and the importance of creating spaces where people can gather, learn, collaborate, and bring ideas to life.
Vanessa Garcia Vanessa Garcia is an operations consultant, maker, artist, and educator based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. At Make Santa Fe, she teaches wood shop and classes that use a computer to control the movement of the tools and machinery. Vanessa is also a part of the team helping shape the next phase of the Midtown Arts and Design Alliance initiative.Through Vesta Interactive, she helps organizations improve workflows, operations, and community-centered systems. Her work focuses on creativity, collaboration, and building spaces where people can learn, make, and connect.
