About this event

CHI-BookClub
Book Club: “Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker” by Jennifer Chiaverini

Join us this month as we dive into Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker. The hostess will provide light refreshments and guide a warm and welcoming discussion.

Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker is a historical fiction novel about Elizabeth Keckley, a former slave who became Mary Todd Lincoln’s dressmaker.  Elizabeth Keckley bought her freedom and became a successful businesswoman and seamstress.  The book explores the close relationship between the two women and their lives during the Civil War.

This event is hosted by Chicago Member Maripat F. at her home in Lakeshore East.
