Learn about the unique Octagon House, it's history and renovation, plus Victorian Christmas decor and customs during this popular one hour tour.
Built in 1860, this "Giant Pink Pastry of a House", as the New York Times dubbed it, is a prime example of a short-lived architectural fad, combined with Victorian decorative excess. It is sure to delight any fan of house tours!
During December, all rooms in the house are decorated with wreaths, garlands, and the sparkle of ornaments on three grand Christmas trees. Visitors see stunning examples of antique holiday décor and learn how the late 19th century shaped our modern American holiday traditions.

Tickets $40 per person. Non-Members are welcome at the same price as Members! Optional lunch afterwards at MP Taverna in Irvington, NY. Bring cash to split the bill.
Please Read These Important Notes:
- NOT recommended for individuals who have difficulty walking up and down three flights of stairs or those who cannot stand for one hour+.
– Free parking is available on site, along the driveway or in the circle in front of The Octagon House, but it is limited. Do not park on West Clinton Avenue.
– Please arrive no more than 20-25 minutes before your tour time due to limited parking and please carpool if possible.
– There are limited restroom facilities (2), so plan ahead! There is a nice bathroom outside attached to the greenhouse, best used before the tour and another one in the gift shop after the tour.

Arrive by 11:00am for 11:30 Tour. Tickets will be handed out by Leslie. Car pool if possible - parking is very limited. Restrooms are limited - use the nice one attached to greenhouse before the tour. Do NOT park on the street!! NO refunds or Credits! Optional lunch afterwards at MP Taverna in Irvington, NY - bring cash to split the bill.
Cancellation Policy:
If you are a member and cancel your registration before the specified deadline, you will receive a full refund as a credit to your account. You can use the credit to pay for another event or put it toward your annual dues payment. Non-members will receive a refund on their credit card, minus a $4 processing fee.
No refunds are available to members or non-members after the cancellation deadline.
