About this event

Tuesday, June 10, 2025, 10:30 AM

There is so much to see in this wonderful neighborhood which is sandwiched in between the Upper West Side and Harlem. Along our route are the neighborhood's famous parks (Morningside and Sakura), magnificent churches (St. John the Divine and Riverside), and beautiful prewar apartment buildings. And of course we see the many academic institutions, including Columbia and Barnard, which give the neighborhood its nickname. We end at the tomb of Civil War General and U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant. It's the largest tomb by volume in the U.S. Meeting place: Hungarian Pastry Shop, 1030 Amsterdam Ave. at W. 111th Street.

Following the tour, for those who would like to join us, we will be going to lunch at Pasticci.
