About this event
For This I Am Grateful:
Writing and Sharing Stories of Meaningful People, Places, and Experiences
A C2C Embracing Aging Event
We all live storied lives. This November, the month of Thanksgiving, we invite you to write, share and reflect on the goldmine of your experiences – heirlooms to be passed on to future generations.
Join us for an interactive, engaging and productive workshop led by Master Storyteller, Margaret Burk. Bring your memories and energy and be prepared for a rich experience recalling your own stories.
Margaret Burk brings decades of performance, teaching and producing experience to her storytelling programs and workshops. Margaret has a B.A. in Theatre and M.A. in Communication. She taught theatre at Kennedy King College and was a founding member of the Bread and Roses Theatre Company. From 1990 – 2002, she was Director of Development for the Chicago Sinfonietta and was named as “100 Women Making a Difference” in Today’s Chicago Woman Magazine. After a career in arts administration, Margaret returned to her love - the spoken word. She performs throughout the Chicago area and recently was the featured teller at the Fox Valley Folk Music and Storytelling Festival in Geneva, IL. Margaret produces a monthly story-telling show called “Tellers’ Night” in Forest Park, IL. She believes in the power of story, not only to entertain, but to touch the heart, spark the imagination and embolden the spirit.
